In my opinion, there’s no substitute for getting out in the garden. I love the air in the morning, the sunsets — I even like pulling weeds in good weather. Things I don’t like are making decisions about my garden without much information, and neglecting it because family and work keep me too busy.
I see promise in connecting technology with gardening — I think the toolset of my generation can inform me about what’s happening in the soil, can help me regulate things like soil moisture or, say, temperature in a cold frame.
Work smarter, not harder. And enjoy your flowers and produce.
